Badehotellet’s two restaurants
Badehotellet has two eateries: Strandpavillonen, which is our gourmet restaurant, where our overnight guests also enjoy their breakfast, and Ship Inn which is our combined bar, brasserie and gallery. The eateries are different in form of concept, decoration and atmosphere, but their common characteristics are organics, local ingrediens and fine quality.
A bronze label in organics
Everyone does not know this, but when you make an eco-balance for the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, it does not only include the ingrediens that the kitchen use to create menus. It altså includes all beverages – beer, kegs, soda and coffee are also a part of the eco-balance.
At our place, the thought of more organics, better animal welfare and helping the environment have started to mean more to us during the last couple of years, and therefore we are happy and proud to put the bronze label on our front door.
Not only do we work with organics when it comes to food and drinks. We also wish to use as many local ingrediens and manufacturers as possible.
As an example, all of our eggs are organic and come from Varde Ådal, only 14 kilometers from the hotel. All of our fish come from the local fishmarket on Esbjerg Havn, which always delivers fresh fish based on season. Our organic chicken comes from Kongeå. Our squash comes from Vibegaard in Skærbæk near Ribe, which offers quality from farm to fork. All squashes are produced and manufactured from fruit that are grown on their own lands.
All of our beef come from SMG Øko, that solely has organic and biodynamic meat. The company is family owned and they work in cooperation with farmers near Esbjerg, Varde and a local abattoir.
We feel and taste the difference and we hope that you will too. Bon appetit.
